We're making a small change to our Goat Formula
...So what's new?
We’ve made a small update to Kendamil Goat, we’re now using the same iron source as in our Organic and Classic formulas: iron pyrophosphate.
Why the change?
While both iron sources are safe and approved for infant formula, this update is based on valuable parent feedback around smell and taste – helping make feeding time a little more enjoyable for you and your little one.
Rest assured, the iron levels remain exactly the same, and continue to meet both UK and EU standards for infant formula. As always, our recipe is backed by rigorous testing and developed by our expert R&D team.
It’s a small change, but one we believe makes a positive difference.
When will this happen?
Stage 1 Infant, Stage 2 Follow-on and Stage 3 toddler formula will change over on Wednesday 19th Novmeber. Any Goat formula ordered on Kendamil.com after this date with be the new recipe.
Will my baby notice a difference?
Probably not, but every baby is unique.
Iron makes up just 0.01% of our recipe, so most little ones won’t notice any change at all. The amount of iron stays exactly the same, we’re simply switching to a different source.
If your baby does seem to notice, it might be because iron pyrophosphate has a slightly milder taste, which can make the formula taste a little sweeter to some. That said, every baby is different, and it’s completely normal for it to take a few feeds for them to adjust.

The key is to take it slow and steady. Abrupt changes can sometimes cause mild tummy discomfort or fussiness, so we recommend a phased approach:
Start by replacing just one feed per day with the new formula.Each day, increase by one additional feed using the new formula.
Over the course of 5–7 days, gradually move to feeding your baby exclusively with the new formula.
This gradual introduction helps your baby adjust to any small differences in taste, texture, or smell.
Note: The example shows five bottles per day as a guide only. The number and volume of feeds will vary depending on your baby’s age and individual needs. Please always follow the feeding guidance provided on your tin.
